This hot chocolate is incredibly delicious, creamy, chocolatey and satisfying! It's a real treat for all chocolate lovers, especially those of us who adore dark chocolate. It's the perfect holiday drink to enjoy with your friends and family.

The two main ingredients that make this liquid fat bomb super creamy are unsweetened chocolate (aka cacao paste) and almond butter. I used roasted almond butter to enhance the flavour.

Tips and Substitutions

  • For extra protein: 1-2 scoops Perfect Keto Collagen or your preferred collagen powder
  • For extra fats: 1-2 tbsp MCT Oil (15 ml) or 1-2 tbsp Perfect Keto MCT Oil Powder
  • You can use raw or roasted almond butter or Perfect Keto Nut Butter. I prefer roasted as it enhances the flavour. Instead of unsweetened chocolate, you can use 85% dark chocolate or 90% dark chocolate and skip the sweetener.

I changed the way I ate in 2011, when I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s, an autoimmune disease that affects the thyroid. I had no energy, and I found it more and more difficult to maintain a healthy weight.

That’s when I decided to quit sugar, grains, and processed foods, and to start following a whole-foods-based ketogenic approach to food.

Thank you, please do!

Cinnamon is totally the magic ingredient here!!

What can I use in place of almond butter?

You can try any nut or seed butter: ketodietapp.com/Blog/Filter

Hi. I have Cacoa nibs and powder. Is there a way I can made paste it is that something totally different? Thank you!!!

Hi Trina, cacao nibs would not work but you can use cacao powder instead (1 tbsp), plus you can use 1 more tbsp of cacao butter or coconut oil. Or use 85-90% dark chocolate instead of cacao paste. I hope this helps!

Hi!
Any substitutes to almond products in this recipe?

You can use liquid coconut milk (the one from carton like Aroy-D) partially mixed with water (half and half). Instead of almond butter, you can use any nut butter, seed butter or even coconut butter. I hope this helps!
