This is my quick step-by-step guide to dalgona coffee with a chocolate twist! It's served over iced chocolate almond milk so it's the perfect refreshment for a hot summer day.
From the Original Low-carb Dalgona to Dalgona Matcha Latte and even Dalgona Chocolate Milk — I've tried them all! This low-carb mocha dalgona coffee is best served with lots of ice and a dash of cinnamon.
How To Make Mocha Dalgona Coffee
It’s simple. Equal parts instant coffee, sweetener and hot water are combined to create an intense coffee flavored foam. This foam is served over iced chocolate almond milk instead of regular dairy milk.
You can also use cashew milk, poppy milk or any nut or seed milk — it's easy to make your own!
If you don't like nut milk, you can use coconut milk (ideally carton, liquid coconut milk, not creamy) mixed with water, or heavy whipping cream mixed with water. I'd use 1 cup of coconut milk or cream and 2 cups of water.
What other flavors would you like me to make? Any wishes? Let me know in the comments 😊

Ingredients (makes 2 servings)
Instructions
- Place the coffee, 2 tablespoons of sweetener and hot water into the bowl of a mixer.
- Mix on low for a minute to dissolve the sweetener. Mix on high for up to 5 minutes.
- Once ready, the mixture becomes light brown in color and thick and fluffy in texture.
- Meanwhile, mix the almond milk with cacao powder and the remaining sweetener. You can use a shaker bottle or a blender to get the milk nice and frothy. Optionally, add a pinch of cinnamon or vanilla.
- Fill each glass ice and then with the chocolate milk until about 3/4 full. I have found that the foam dissipates quite fast so have everything ready to go as soon as it is ready.
- Spoon the coffee foam on top of the chocolate milk.
- Serve with a spoon or a straw to stir the foam through the milk. Dalgona should be consumed immediately.
