Autumn is here and it's the best time for pumpkin recipes. So what is it that gives pumpkin treats their characteristic taste? Although pumpkin itself adds a subtle sweetness and helps maintain a soft texture, it's the spices that make pumpkin treats so irresistible. I like making my own blend so I can choose the spices and flavours I like.

Below are some of my best recipes that use this blend. Once you make your own pumpkin spice mix, give these recipes a try and let me know! :-)

I changed the way I ate in 2011, when I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s, an autoimmune disease that affects the thyroid. I had no energy, and I found it more and more difficult to maintain a healthy weight.

That’s when I decided to quit sugar, grains, and processed foods, and to start following a whole-foods-based ketogenic approach to food.

Delicious! I originally made a is blend for your pumpkin & orange cheesecake recipe.  I’ve recently shifted to black tea in the morning rather than my usual cup of joe and upon stumbling on this spice blend in the cupboard while looking for something else, was inspired to add some of this spice blend to my morning tea.  I’ve used it every morning since to elevate my black tea/earl gray blend to a caffeinated earl chai tea (add some coconut milk and stevia and voilà!) I just finished the last bit up this morning and came immediately back to this recipe to make more.

Sounds great!! I haven't tried mace or cardamom in my blend, will give it a go! 😊

Those are my favourite additions, especially cardamom 😊
