I changed the way I ate in 2011, when I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s, an autoimmune disease that affects the thyroid. I had no energy, and I found it more and more difficult to maintain a healthy weight.

That’s when I decided to quit sugar, grains, and processed foods, and to start following a whole-foods-based ketogenic approach to food.

Since I can't eat avocado, I was going to just sub another vegetable to eat the chicken with, but I realized that the nutrition numbers won't be the same.  Do you know what the nutritional information is for one serving without the avocado?

Hi Beth, that would be a big change but I suppose you can serve it on top of lettuce or other greens. If you have our app, you can find this meal in the KetoDiet Blog or in the Custom Meals. From there you can clone the meal and then add or remove any ingredients to see the impact on the nutrition facts. I hope this helps!

Really delicious!!

Can I sub out the chicken for shrimp? If so how much?

Reply

Yes, you definitely can - shrimp has similar nutrition facts and would work great in this recipe! 😊

Awesome!  I felt the thyme was a bit too much, but otherwise it was really good.  I'll probably cut down on the thyme by half next time. I'm also playing around with a BBQ version of this.

Thank you Darryn, I'm glad you liked it!

Do the carbs in this recipe come from the cream cheese?

Reply

Yes and also the avocado and spices.

This recipe was great!  I was worried that it was going to be too spicy, but it was not spicy at all. The flavor was really good!  I used 1 large can of cooked chicken since that was all I had on hand and it turned out delicious!  I will definitely make this again on days I don't really feel like cooking! Thanks for posting the recipe!
