Remember when we updated our app icon last year and I mentioned that a bigger makeover was on the way? I’m so happy to finally share what we’ve been working on.

After months of work, the redesigned KetoDiet App is here! The update is now available on iOS, with Android following in just a few days.

We’ve given the app a fresh look and made it easier to navigate, plan your meals, track your macros and fasting, discover recipes, and follow your progress.

A Fresh Look for iPhone and iPad

The interface has been completely redesigned for both iPhone and iPad, with a clearer layout that makes everyday tasks easier.

Most of the screenshots in this post show the iPad version, where there’s more room to give you a closer look. But the iPhone app has had a complete makeover too!

Your Day, All in One Place

The updated Today screen brings your macros, fasting tracker, and meal planning tools together, making it easier to see how your day is shaping up.

Whether you’re checking your macros, logging a meal, or keeping an eye on your fasting window, the tools you use most are easier to find.

Easier Recipe Browsing

Finding something you want to cook should be one of the enjoyable parts of meal planning.

We’ve made recipes easier to browse and added new collections to help you find meals that fit your goals. Whether you already know what you’re looking for or need a little inspiration, there’s more to explore.

A Clearer View of Your Progress

We’ve also improved progress tracking, with better charts and side-by-side progress photos to help you see changes over time.

Alongside these bigger updates, we’ve made lots of smaller improvements throughout the app to make everyday tracking easier.

This Is Just the Beginning

This redesign also lays the groundwork for features we’ve wanted to bring you for a long time.

Some of the things on our list include:

  • Recipe suggestions based on ingredients you already have, to help you decide what to cook.
  • Sugar alcohol tracking, giving you more control over how you track your carbs.
  • Personal weight goals, with a clearer view of your progress towards them.
  • Recipes from my cookbooks, with plans to give readers who own them access to nearly 1,000 additional recipes so they can easily add them to the Planner alongside the roughly 2,000 already in the app.
  • A Mediterranean keto recipe collection, making it easier to find recipes that fit the approach in my book, The New Mediterranean Diet Cookbook.
  • Community and recipe sharing, so you can connect with others and share favourites with friends.
  • More ways to stay consistent and accountable, with encouragement along the way.

We’re also looking at better blood glucose and ketone tracking, including multiple readings throughout the day, and options to export your data to share with a health coach or healthcare professional.

These won’t all arrive at once, and your feedback will help us decide what to prioritise. Which would make the biggest difference to you? Let me know in the comments.

Ready to Try KetoDiet?

If you’re not a member yet, I’d love for you to try the redesigned app!

Thank you for all your support and suggestions along the way. I’m so happy to finally share this update with you!

Which of the planned features are you most excited about—and is there anything else you’d love us to add? Let me know in the comments.

I changed the way I ate in 2011, when I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s, an autoimmune disease that affects the thyroid. I had no energy, and I found it more and more difficult to maintain a healthy weight.

That’s when I decided to quit sugar, grains, and processed foods, and to start following a whole-foods-based ketogenic approach to food.
