I changed the way I ate in 2011, when I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s, an autoimmune disease that affects the thyroid. I had no energy, and I found it more and more difficult to maintain a healthy weight.

That’s when I decided to quit sugar, grains, and processed foods, and to start following a whole-foods-based ketogenic approach to food.

Thank you Martina. I live in New Zealand and have just purchased your Beginner's Guide in a local bookshop. Your story is also mine...hashimoto's, endless diets and tiredness. Your book answers  so many questions.  Thank you. B.

Thank you so much!

This is not a comment to this post. But a favor. A while ago I bought your "app" for $6.99 and it didn't work on my Fire tablet. I now have a Samsung galaxy note 8. Can I please get the app for this phone; I already paid for after all!?
    Thanks,
     Paula

Hi Paula, I'm afraid the app will only work on devices that are supported by Google Play. I'm afraid this is out of our control. If you purchased the app and cannot run it on your device you will need to get a refund. If you want to use it on your Samsung phone, you may have to buy it again (after getting a refund) as the previous purchase is likely not linked to your Google Play account. Please keep in mind we cannot guarantee a quick reply if you leave a comment on the blog. For a quick reply, you need to send us a support e-mail.

This is a great keto cook book (I pre-ordered on Amazon). I've already made a number of the recipes and have plans to make more.  Thanks for collecting all of these great recipes in one place! It makes eating keto even easier.

Thank you so much Martha, I appreciate your support!

I think my biggest challenge has been figuring out what to eat daily and keep within my macros. I feel that this app has helped with that the most. The recipes are great and I love that the nutritional information is consistent unlike other apps that have several different amounts for the same thing. I don’t feel like I am going through this all alone now. And my husband who usually avoids anything healthy actually likes most of the recipes that I have served! Thanks for all the hard work that you put into helping me with a healthy Keto lifestyle!

Awesome blog.

I learned that I had to give up on the idea of "moderation"...complete abstinence is much more effective for me when it comes to things like sugar. I have an addictive personality (books, collecting, and sugar!) and I can't stop with just one of anything once I get started. Going Keto 3 years ago was the best lifestyle choice I have ever made!

Can’t wait to get my hands on this, looks great!

My biggest obstacle has been cravings. Every other "diet" I've tried I ultimately failed to keep on due to intense sugar cravings and cheating. I'd give up, binge, and start over. I had no energy and was terrible about prepping. I finally overcame this with keto, because it totally rewired my brain. I don't have the same intense cravings I did before and I feel more in control which has helped me stick to it. It's been a life changer and has increased my energy. I'll never go back!!

This is something my daughter and I are trying now

Just getting started on this WOE.  Biggest obstacle so far is simply trying to sift through all of the information. Continually reading and researching.  Thank you for all that you share!!

My biggest obstacle is myself. I begin the day determined to eat healthy and treat myself well. But as the day goes on and the stresses pile up, my attitude deteriorates and my resolve disappears. I can't seem to coach myself out of these episodes. I do best when I am a part of a group: a challenge at my gym or setting goals with my daughter. This group's challenge has been helpful, as well. I keep my "before" photo on my computer desktop. Huge motivator. Thank you.

I've been searching for the perfect keto cookbook and this looks like a good one. thanks

I think one of my obstacles is attending events where the food just isn't what I want to eat and I hate to offend.  Like birthday cake.  I'd be happier not to have any but I don't want the others to feel bad about having it....

As a single working Mama with 2 jobs, I am always on the go and I have found that there are very few healthy and affordable varieties of food for me to choose from esp. eating on the go. I yearn to live a healthier lifestyle but  have the worst sweet tooth and find myself snacking on unhealthy salty or sugary snacks most days! With help from my family, I am packing more fresh fruits and veggies for myself as well as healthy lunches and water in a bew cooler!

My biggest obstacle is sweets. I really crave chocolate! To deal with this I have been eating fruits and drinking water.

My biggest obstacle?  Potatoes.  Especially roast, baked or chips.  I make them for my non-low-carb husband and son and it's really, really hard not to join in!  Yeah, I love roast cauliflower too, and cauli rice is nice, but I just love potatoes so much!

Sifting through all the wrong information about the keto way of eating. When i found your site it was like a breath of fresh air. The information is all clearly laid out and backed by scientific evidence that i feel confident that i am doing it correctly now. I have 2 of your books and absolutely love them and use them daily.

I love sweets and carbs so I have veggies and salads ready to eat in the fridge.

Time and plannning. Seriously hate cooking regularly.

Love your recipes! Awesome blog

Biggest obstacle is Trying To Avoid all Fast foods. But the commercials are so mouth watering lol

My biggest obstacle has been staying on track while living in a household of people who all eat totally different.  I try to meal prep in advance, keep a stash of frozen meals and have learned the power of adding a keto sauce to customize the meal for me.  It's a work in progress!

I am my biggest obstacle, my lack of motivation.

My biggest obstacle is being on this journey alone even though I'm in a relationship.  I carry on alone, but always offer my spouse to try my keto creations.  Sometimes he likes them, but refuses to join the keto WOL.  No worries, I keto on, knowing ultimately all you can do is take care of you.  Blessings.

I am just starting so the hardest part right now for me is all the information I'm trying to gain. Thanks for the awesome giveaway!
