My husband loves a bit of rum. And I love buttery spiced flavours. So this may well be the perfect drink for us.

I love that you can keep the mixture tucked in the fridge until you want to make a batch each time. Perfect for warming the souls of visiting friends this winter.

To make your keto-friendly Hot Buttered Rum, combine your prepared rum mix with rum and boiling water in the following amounts:

  • 1 tbsp spiced butter mix (15 g/ 0.5 oz)
  • 1 shot of dark rum (30 ml)
  • 1 cup boiling water (240 ml/ 8 fl oz)
  • Optional: substitute water with hot nut milk or add a dash of heavy whipping cream

Pro tip: As an experiment, I also tried blitzing this hot buttered rum in a bullet blender like a bulletproof coffee and they came out deliciously creamy and frothy. I don’t know which I liked better.

Avoiding alcohol? Instead of rum you can even use hot coffee or tea to make flavoured high-fat beverage like bulletproof coffee. Enjoy!

This is amazing! I don't drink alcohol so I used it in my BPC instead of plain butter. Yum!!

Thank you Sarah, that's right, any hot beverage will be great with this mix! 😊
