Growing up in an Italian family, Dearna spent her school holidays in her grandfather’s huge, organic garden harvesting vegetables for the family to eat, or cooking with them in the kitchen with her Nonna. The idea that food is best when fresh and seasonal was instilled in her from a young age, and she loves experimenting with different flavours and recipes using fresh, unprocessed produce.

When not in the kitchen cooking, or photographing food, she loves nothing more than a hike out in nature with her partner and friends.
