Macadamia nuts are delicious and should be included in every healthy diet. Eat a handful of them as a snack or sprinkle them on you salad. They are often not recommended for their high fat content, however, fat in macadamia nuts is healthy and will help you lose weight like fat in coconut oil!

Macadamia nuts are one of the only food sources that contain palmitoleic acid (a type of monounsaturated fatty acid that may speed up fat metabolism, thus reducing the body’s ability to store fat). Macadamia nuts are also naturally sating and will help you keep hunger at bay.

About 80% of the fat in macadamia nuts is heart-healthy monounsaturated fat and they also contain omega 3 fatty acids. Macadamia oil is even healthier than olive oil and has a higher smoke point (i.e. it can be cooked at higher temperatures without burning).

Another health benefit of macadamia nuts comes from their content of flavonoids, which act as anti-oxidants in our body. They help lower blood pressure and are often claimed to protect against some types of cancer. You can find more about macadamia nuts here.

I love macadamia nuts and you can find them in my No-bake Mini Berry Cheesecakes. There are more recipes using macadamia nuts which I have included in my apps KetoDiet and KetoDiet Basic!
