Strawberry Keto Milkshake

Berry shakes and smoothies are delicious on hot summer days. My mom used to make strawberry milkshake for me when I was a kid. She only used two ingredients, strawberries from our garden and whole milk from a local farmer. To make this shake keto-friendly, I used coconut milk and added some MCT oil which will increase the fat-burning potential of a keto diet. Hope you like it as much as I do :-)

I didn't have the oil on hand but i put about 1-1/2 tablespoons of creamcheese in it! Delish! More like a strawberry cheesecake shake!

Trying this in the morning where do I get chia seeds I have flax seeds will that work and do you think it will taste good or should I just leave it out

Reply

Hi Misty, it's ok to leave it out - or you can use a tablespoon of ground flax if you prefer it creamier Smile I get chia seeds on Amazon (see the link in ingredients).

I made it this morning using frozen strawberries-it was perfect for a warm morning.  Thanks for posting this!  Loved it and will be making this for my kids. Can I mix the MCT oil with any shake? or do I use it as supplement? Thanks!

Hi Maggie, glad you liked it! I add a tablespoon of MCT oil in most of my smoothies - e.g. vanilla, chocolate that are also on my blog. I'd only use a tablespoon just to avoid stomach issues which may happen with too much of it.

which is better to soak the chia seeds first or keep them dry? I love all of your recipes , Thank you!

Reply

Thank you! If you soak them first, the texture may be smoother but you can do either Smile

Made it love it will make it again and again!! Smile My calorie limit is quite low even on keto but I don't feel hungry (1400 kcal a day) and this recipe is perfect for that!
